Some things that may be done within the next few years to adjust ourselves to the false blossom situation.

It is now generally agreed that false blossom is a serious menace to cranberries and that it is spreading. It seems to have been demonstrated also that the disease is transmitted by a certain leaf hopper which may indeed be the only carrier. The question now is - what can be done about it? Only three lines of activity seem to offer promise - insect control, a search for varieties which are resistant to the disease, and such changes in management and practice as will enable the industry to adjust itself to the present situation.
